Professionally Trained

I graduated from Azusa Pacific University with a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy.  My professional experience has broadened my skills as a therapist and utilize a variety of tools with my clients. As a therapist, I believe that every person has the potential to cultivate a fulfilling, rewarding life.  I use a psychodynamic, person-focused approach in therapy, meaning that I believe your unique history contributes to your present life and future aspirations, and I will help you understand yourself more deeply.  I am not here to change you – I am here to provide the support and the skills you need to empower yourself to embrace your best self.

Areas of special focus

I focus on treating complex emotional and relational issues.  I have nearly 4 years of experience working with survivors of domestic/family violence.  I use a non-judgmental, empathetic approach to helping all clients gently confront and process their pain.  I often utilize EMDR in my practice, which is a type of therapy designed to help alleviate trauma-related symptoms (i.e. flashbacks, panic attacks, ruminating thoughts, increased heart rate, difficulty sleeping, irritability and anger, feeling numb, confusion, self-blame and shame, etc).  I especially love working with pre-teens/teens (ages 12-19) and offering unconditional support as they begin to form their own unique identities. In addition, I work with geriatric (ages 60 and above) clients with life transitions and self-purpose. Each individual I work with are unique and are treated with grace, compassion, and empathy.
